The Challenge: A trade association was positioned as a small division of a much larger industry association. The association was having difficulty obtaining the staffing and financial resources from the larger organization to pursue a more aggressive public policy agenda, as well as a more entrepreneurial approach to building association revenue.
Coulter Nonprofit Management’s Response: After a series of strategic meetings with association leadership, the association was brought in as a full-service client. Coulter Nonprofit Management staff was charged with creating a brand identity for the client association, which would in turn be leveraged to build new and enhanced association revenue streams. Our entrepreneurial orientation and outcome-based philosophy were evident in the rollout of an aggressive branding, membership and resource development campaign. Coulter Nonprofit Management took a significant role, in partnership with the leadership, in all phases of the effort.
The Result: Since coming to Coulter Nonprofit Management, the association has increased sponsors, grant and advocacy fund revenue by more than 500 percent. This has allowed the association to provide considerably enhanced services to further fuel its advocacy mission. In the past two years, the association has more than doubled its reserves and is now viewed within its industry segment as the most prominent organization of its kind.
