Andy Schwarz joined Coulter in early 2011 and directs the public relations efforts for clients of Coulter Nonprofit Management. Prior to joining Coulter, Schwarz led the bookselling division of Eagle Publishing, where he directed communications and marketing of books and products. Schwarz reached niche markets through multi-channel marketing that utilized publicity, direct mail, catalogs, e-mail and advertising.  He wrote copy to sell a diverse catalog of products, including books, DVDs, flags, sculptures, commemorative coins, and even action figures. Schwarz developed successful co-marketing partnerships with organizations such as the U.S. Navy Memorial Foundation, the Mount Vernon Gift Shop, and the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation.

Schwarz’s previous experience includes marketing publications and services for the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). During his tenure at NAHB, he launched and edited the newsletter Building Homes & Profits, marketed conferences and books targeted to small volume builders, and led the marketing team at Home Builder Press. Schwarz also edited TBI Challenge!, the quarterly magazine of the Brain Injury Association of America.

Schwarz earned an undergraduate degree in English from the University of Virginia and an MBA from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.

Schwarz, his wife, Mary, and their three children reside in Arlington, Virginia.

Now, here's the backstory on Andy:

  • Hometown:   Burke, Virginia
  • First Car: Omega, which my parents only gave me so I could drive myself to those early morning swim practices.
  • Superhero power I wish I had: To be in two places at one time (the perfect way to manage multiple clients at work and three kids at home!).
  • Television show or movie most resembles my current life: The Love Boat, because every week is different (and a show that resembles my life must have a theme song).
  • App I can't live without: Entertainment Weekly on my iPad (let the rest of the family fight over the print issue!).
  • Favorite guilty pleasure: The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills
  • Three publications I'd recommend for anyone who does what I do: Huffington Post, TheCurrent, Media Bistro
  • What I do in my "free" time: Run, swim, garden, volunteer at my church, and keep up with the activities and antics of my three kids. And the glorious, but too-occasional date night with my wife.
  • If I could travel anywhere in the world, I would go...: Greece or Italy or France -- really anywhere on the water with good food and wine!
  • Advice I would give my "younger self": Go to Greece or Italy or France before you have too many responsibilities!
  • How life has changed since I joined Coulter: I've embraced my devices, and now I am one of those people who "can't live without my phone." Email, photos, music, internet, weather, texting... sometimes I even make a phone call.
  • At the end of the day...: I am grateful.
